John Livingston is a choreographer and solo dance artist who has developed a unique form of dance improvisation.
It is the emotion in the music to which he responds in his performances, challenging preconceptions about difference by drawing on and emphasising what we have in common. In his creative process, he reaches into a deep and fundamental place where layers of superficiality are stripped away to reveal the universality of the human condition.
His many years of experience include performing regularly at major London venues, such as The Southbank Centre, The Place, and Sadler's Wells.
In 2014, as principal dancer with Culture Device Dance Project, John completed a highly successful seventeen performance European tour in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Germany, of which eleven were solo shows.
His dance qualifications include a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Performance) with a distinction in dance improvisation. He is also a graduate of the CandoCo Foundation Course in Dance.
John has now formed his own company, John Livingston Dance, with the aim of continuing to develop as an artist and perform regularly to create new audiences for his work.
